Pattern lays
Herringbone, basket weave & feature borders
Pattern lays take considerably more setting out than a standard plank floor — and that’s exactly where a careful fitter earns their money.
In Urmston we framed a light-oak herringbone with a border, squared neatly into the adjoining plank floor. In Didsbury we created a bespoke feature-tile design around a kitchen island in Amtico. And in Worsley, a basket-weave lay became the centrepiece of the room.

“Tom and Jack were 100% professional, friendly and knowledgeable from first contact until the job was complete. We went for LVT throughout and are delighted with the result.”
“Amazing work by the guys. 1 day to screed the floor like glass and 1 day to fit the herringbone/parquet flooring. Absolute quality work and real gentlemen. Price point was bang on budget.”
“Tom and Jack stepped in to prepare and fit LVT on our ground floor extension when our planned fitter fell through at the last minute… firstly prepping a fantastic screed before laying Amtico tiles in a herringbone style.”
Is LVT really waterproof?
LVT itself is waterproof, which is why it’s so popular for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways. A properly prepared subfloor and well-finished edges are what keep it performing for years.
Glue-down or click LVT?
Both have their place. Glue-down is the go-to for pattern lays like herringbone and for use over underfloor heating; click systems can suit some rooms. We’ll recommend the right one at your sample visit.
How long does an LVT floor take to fit?
It depends on the size, pattern and subfloor. As a guide, our Urmston herringbone took two days — one to screed the floor flat, one to lay it.
Can you do a bespoke design?
Yes — borders, feature strips and inset designs. In Didsbury we created a bespoke feature-tile design around a kitchen island in Amtico.
